The Goblin Market-illustrated by hardcore-introvert The Goblin Market-illustrated by hardcore-introvert
Urk. It's...so...big... :faint: I didn't think it would be so long. I hope everyone can still see the writing ^^;.

This is my completed story submission to the Book of Stories OCT [link] If you would like to see the pretty, pretty pictures (or the not-so-pretty writing) all on their lonesome, you can look here [link]

:la: I can't believe I actually did this without completely killing my computer! Usually whenever I try to use technology of any sort it just...fizzles and dies.

I really like the style of this entry.

I love the goblin bookseller. For some reason, I am enchanted by his tie. It's just so... pedestrian. It's kind of awesome.

Literature, self-styled format, AND comic-fashion art and sketches. ^__^ Very nice.

Deliberately getting into the Book to save themselves, KNOWING it was magic, was a grand maneuver. :D

Thank you :aww:

That part surprised me, actually. I didn't think Artego had it in him to do something so risky :XD:

o.O Oh gog, how did you do this? I was contemplating on something similar but had NO idea on how to approach it. -_- Sorry for taking up your time because either way, I absolutely love this! Keep up the good work!

First of all, thank you very much!!!:tighthug:
^^; Do you mind if I sent you a note telling you how I did it? Because it's really simple but could possibly take a lot of typing, and I don't want to bombard people looking at this with enormous descriptions of how I did things :meow:

Yes a note would be fine, I completely understand. :D
~ Your welcome! It's definitely deserved! Your story so far reminds me of the Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell. Feels like the same tone, and I loved that series! Best of luck :)

Thank you :aww: I actually originally planned it to be a comic, so I'm glad the pictures are still amusing.

In a nutshell, I took a scan of old paper and stuck copies of it together over and over again in gimp until I had the length I needed, then arranged the pictures and text on top of it. I was surprisingly simple, but the text took forever ^^;

And I hope to meet yours :D. Let's hope we both get in, then.

I bet, it looks like you put a lot of time and hardwork into them. They are extremely good. I do a lot of illustrating for my writings too, i just can't draw people that well. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to scan and post them.

People are just about the only thing I can draw off the top of my head. Anything else needs a reference :XD:

I don't scan my pictures ( don't have a scanner ;P) I just photograph them and then fiddle around a bit with gimp to get rid of as many shadows, etc. as possible. It's far from perfect, but it works :)

haha, well its the opposite for me, I can draw a few animals off the top of my head, but really good ones need a ref. I have a drawing of Fell I did, and i might get it up later.
